the 3.6% increase in stock price was driven by
improved investor sentiment. The broader
market, measured by the S&P 500, decreased
0.9%.
Aetna announced that it has completed a public offering of its 6.75% Senior Notes due in 2037 for $700 million. Health Net, Inc. announced that it had secured $175 million in new debt under a financing facility from a non-U.S. bank.

Effective February 25, 2008, WellPoint, Inc. appointed John Langenus to Senior Vice President and President and CEO of Anthem National Accounts division.
Bravo Health announced on December 4th, that its Medicare Advantage and prescription drug plan membership has nearly doubled in the past year and now exceeds 100,000 members. CareSource, Ohio’s largest Medicaid HMO in Ohio, announced on December 4th that it has finalized the purchase of Michigan managed care plan Community Choice Michigan.
